Publisher - Malcolm Gianella
Malcolm Gianella is a respected businessman in the real estate community of Southwest Florida. He is an entrepreneur, who is recognized for his strong communication skills, relationship-driven mindset, and commitment to serving the community in his real estate field.
Malcolm is known for his approachable style and ability to connect with people from all backgrounds, Malcolm believes clear communication is the foundation of trust and long-term success.
He is successful in all his endeavors, and pursues challenges, opportunities for learning, which lead to growth, personally, but in the business market as well. Today, in 2026, Malcolm is focused on creating a trusted communication platform that will give a voice to the region’s growing Hispanic community.
Together with his partner Silvia Diez, Malcolm Gianella is poised to make an even greater impact through their shared vision for La Voz Latina de Florida. Their combined strengths in communication and community engagement create a powerful foundation for this newspaper endeavor. With their unwavering commitment and collaborative spirit, Malcolm and Silvia are dedicated to fostering a vibrant platform that
only informs but also empowers their Latino readers.

Editor - Silvia Diez
Silvia Diez is an experienced Southwest Florida journalist and writer originally from Argentina, with a career in media and communications. She began her career in the industry working as the news director for Estero FM 107.5 in 1999, and also hosted the first local Spanish-language television program, "Que Pasa SW Florida," on the Comcast Network.
She established the first Hispanic paper of the SW Florida area back in 2000. This publication was Nuevos Ecos.
In 2005, she was selected by the Naples Daily News as the leader and editor of its first Spanish-language version.
She has led Hispanic news efforts in the region for many years, including founding and directing a pioneering Spanish‑language newspaper in the area, and a hosting an online program called Power Latino. Over her multi‑decade career she has continued as an independent news reporter, and in has been formally recognized in the U.S. Congressional Record by Mario Diaz-Balart for her contributions to storytelling and community engagement in Southwest Florida.
Silvia is also the CEO of Mujeres Emprendedoras SWFL, a very active networking group in the area. On the website for this group, you may read more about her trajectory, plus her genuine connection to business leaders in the area.
Our Editorial Focus
Our editorial focus prioritizes local coverage of both Lee and Collier Counties, with an emphasis on economic development, education, culture, entrepreneurship, and current political events.
We primarily serve the Hispanic community of Southwest Florida, as well as business owners, community leaders, and families seeking reliable information in their language.
